All participants must pay the registration fee prior to arrival at the conference venue. Participants are also advised to have a copy of their payment slip when going to the registration desk at the conference just in case they are requested to show proof of the payment on their arrival.

Registration Agreement, Registration Process and Payment Methods

  1. By registering for and/or attending the 14th International Conference on Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies and 16th TIF International Conference for Patients & Parents all participants agree to be bound by, and comply with, these Terms and Conditions. It is the participant's responsibility to read and understand these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Participants are responsible for taking appropriate insurance coverage in connection with their attendance at the 14th International Conference on Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies and 16th TIF International Conference for Patients & Parents where the participant is travelling from outside of the host country to attend the conference, appropriate travel insurance should be purchased independently and in advance of any travel or travel bookings.
  3. Registrants will be able to select the early registration fee up until July 31st, 2017. If payment has not been received and confirmed by the Secretariat Office by July 31st, 2017 registrants will be charged the late conference fee. This applies to registrants submitting bank/wire transfers and online credit card payments that are incomplete for any reason.
  4. Registrants should obtain confirmation from the Secretariat Office before committing to other travel arrangements.
  5. In cases where accommodation costs are not included in the conference registration attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements.
  6. Capacity is limited. Registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  7. On-site registration will not be allowed.


  1. Payments can be made online by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) and by direct bank transfer (please ensure all the correct details are included in the transfer such as name, proforma invoice number and if applicable conference number)
  2. All fees payable by the participant in accordance with the terms contained in this ‘information’ section shall be paid free and clear of all deductions or withholdings whatsoever.
  3. Conference registrations will not be confirmed until the completed form and the correct payment is received and processed by the Secretariat Office.
  4. Payment must be received in full prior to the conference. Access will not be permitted if full payment has not been received.
  5. All applicable taxes are included in the price.
  6. When you pay online with your credit card a purchase with the name "14th International Conference on Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies and 16th TIF International Conference for Patients & Parents" will show in your bank account statement.
  7. Payments with credit card cannot be accepted from the following countries:
    Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Myanmar, Cameroon, Ecuador, Iran, Indonesia, French Guiana, Yemen, Tanzania, Uganda, Syria, Sudan, Papua New Guinea, Panama, Nepal, Mongolia, Lao, Korea Democratic People’s Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Iraq (more countries can be added without prior notice)

Cancellation Policy

  2. Conference registrations cancelled with the following conditions:
    Cancellation Charge:
    Within 24 hours of registration No Charge
    31 August 2017 or earlier 50% charge of the total registration and accommodation fees apply
    01 September 2017 onwards 100% of the total registration and accommodation fees apply
    VISA Rejection Cancellations It is the participants’ responsibility to obtain VISA if required. Conference can only reimburse partially the cancellations made before August 31, 2017 regarding VISA rejection. Cancellations made September 1, 2017 and onwards will not be refunded.
  3. Substitutions may be made at until 30 September 2017. If you wish to substitute a participant, please contact the Conference Secretariat at the earliest opportunity.
  4. All refunds will be made after the Conference.
  5. In the event of fire, flood or without limit other causes that Thalassaemia International Federation reasonably believes to be substantial or that are beyond Thalassaemia International Federation's control, Thalassaemia International Federation reserves the right to change the times, dates and the venue of the conference, without incurring any liability to the participants.
  6. The participant by accepting these terms and conditions hereby indemnifies Thalassaemia International Federation and its organizers and agents against and holds it harmless from all or any loss or damage, injury, actions, proceedings or claims arising from any act or omission of the participant during the course of the conference.

Personal Information

  1. Please note that participation contact details will be kept on the Thalassaemia International Federation database.
  2. Unless the Conference Secretariat has received an explicit request from a registrant disallowing to share his/her contact information (through the Registration Form), a list of all attendees, their affiliation institutions and email addresses will be included in the delegate packs.
  3. The email addresses will also be used to circulate last minute details and announcements of future Thalassaemia International Federation events.

Personal Property

  1. Thalassaemia International Federation accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.


  1. Rates are inclusive of in-room internet and breakfast.
  2. Rates are inclusive of government tax (any change in tax will be pass on to participants)
  3. Check in and Check out time: PLEASE BE ADVISED that the hotel rooms are available for guest check-in after 2:00 pm, and check-out before 12:00 noon.
  4. Cancellations before August 31, 2017 will be subject to 50% cancellation charge.
  5. No shows or cancellations from September 1, 2017 will be subject to 100% cancellation charge.
  6. The guest pays all incidental charges (e.g. minibar, telephone) upon check-out.
  7. Upon arrival the guests will be kindly asked to provide a credit card as a guarantee or a cash deposit payment per night for possible incidental charges.
  8. Points will not be rewarded in the case of participation in any of the hotel or hotel chain program.
